'HECTOR' 1966 VW Splitscreen Deluxe
'Hector' is now over 50 years old and was born in 1966 in the Wolfsburg Factory in Germany. His precise colour is Lotus White with Alpine White bumpers. His early years were actually in the USA where he worked for a time as a taxi in New York! He was eventually shipped over to the UK where he spent many a year camping and driving around and also tried a spot of drag racing at the famous Santa Pod race track...that experience didn't end too well and he ended up with a very burnt bottom!
We have had Hector now for over 10 years and most of his interior is still the original from when he left the factory in 1966. We have made only minor adjustments to suit his new role.
'BARNEY' 1974 VW Bay Window Deluxe
'Barney' born in 1974 is just a baby really being only 47 years old. His colour is Savannah Beige and Lotus White. He is an original Microbus and has been restored to an exceptional standard, without losing any of his VW vintage charm.
He was lucky enough to be part of just one family since he left the factory back in the 1970s. We adopted him a few years ago and so are only his second owner in over 46 years, which is very special indeed.
Barney has two rows of bench seats that face each other so great for a calming chat and a giggle on the way. He is just a real joy and a very comfortable ride being an automatic. Mick really does like his rare VWs.

'ROOBARB' 1977 VW Bay Window with Twin Sliding Doors
'Roobarb' was born in 1977, he is 'Beryl' green and is pretty rare having twin sliding doors, so both doors on each side open so you can see right through him, great for photo opportunities. He is the youngest and newest member of our fleet but he has been with us for the longest period of time. He has been Mick's buddy at work for over 15 years and so has been quietly sitting in the background watching the other two get all the attention. We debated for a long time whether we should bring him into the fleet and the big incentive came when we received a booking for him! A lovely couple came in and desperately wanted three campervans and so, Mick being Mick, said 'well we have this one here too', pointing to Roobarb. Mick worked many hours getting him 'wedding ready' and the final touches with the garlands, curtains and buntings were added just days before their big day. On the day the bride and groom had all three to choose from and they chose Roobarb, so watch this space, we think he is going to be very popular.
